VIDEO: Akira Ohashi from Britain’s Got Talent Leaves Audience Uncomfortable After Accidentally Exposing His “Private Part” During His Act: “Noticeably Smaller Than Average”
Britain’s Got Talent Faces Backlash Over International Contestants
Britain’s Got Talent has sparked fresh controversy as viewers question the presence of international contestants in the competition.
The latest episode featured the Filipino dance troupe Obsequious and Japanese comedian Akira Ohashi, both of whom impressed the judges and the live audience.
Akira Ohashi, well-known in Japan, performed a daring comedy routine using only a tray to cover himself. His unique style has already gained him millions of views on YouTube.
Meanwhile, Obsequious, with a strong social media presence of 66,000 Facebook followers, has earned recognition in various prestigious competitions, including World Supremacy Battlegrounds, WSB Asia PH, Battlegrounds PH Luzon, WSB Asia International, and Champions Tour Cell.
Mixed Reactions from Fans
While many praised their performances, others took to social media to express frustration over the presence of non-UK contestants.
One Instagram user commented under a post from BGT’s official page: “Why call it ‘Britain’s’ Got Talent if the contestants aren’t from Britain?”
Another sarcastically wrote: “Might as well rename it Global Got Talent.”
On X (formerly Twitter), a disgruntled viewer ranted: “Yet again, another season filled with dance acts, singers, magicians, and the most easily impressed audience ever.”
Defending International Acts
Despite the backlash, many defended the inclusion of global contestants, emphasizing that BGT has always been open to talent from around the world.
