Filed in the Eastern District of New York, the case claims that the defendants exploited New York’s no-fault insurance laws to fraudulently bill for procedures, with payouts reaching up to $200,000 for taxi and for-hire vehicle injuries.
Dr. Hostin is accused of performing arthroscopic surgeries on patients involved in minor car accidents with minimal injuries. Additionally, the lawsuit claims he had an “investment interest” in the Empire State Ambulatory Surgery Center, allegedly receiving referrals in exchange for financial kickbacks.
