Today show co-host Jenna Bush Hager has set the record straight after fans noticed she has been appearing without her wedding ring. During a recent episode of Today with Jenna & Friends, the 43-year-old addressed the growing speculation, revealing that an unfortunate injury—not relationship troubles—is to blame.
“I’m not wearing my ring because I broke my finger,” she explained. “But don’t worry, I’ve seen the comments—Henry and I are still very happily married.”
A Past Ring Mishap That Left Jenna Panicked
This isn’t the first time Jenna has dealt with a ring-related dilemma. She recalled a previous incident involving a priceless family heirloom—her husband Henry Chase Hager’s grandmother’s sapphire.
The mishap occurred during Savannah Guthrie’s 50th birthday party in 2022 when Jenna “went all out” celebrating. While Henry, 46, opted to call it a night early, Jenna stayed behind to continue the festivities—something she later regretted.
“He went to bed a little earlier, kind of giving me the ‘Aren’t you coming with me?’ look. And I said, ‘No, I’m staying!’” she admitted.
The next morning, she realized something was wrong—one of the stones from her engagement ring was missing.
How Henry Reacted to the Lost Heirloom
Knowing she had already pushed her luck by partying too hard, Jenna hesitated before breaking the news.
“I was already on thin ice, so I wasn’t sure whether to tell him immediately or wait,” she confessed. “But eventually, I just said, ‘Honey, I lost your grandmother’s sapphire… and also a little bit of dignity last night.’”
To her relief, Henry took the news surprisingly well—even though the missing sapphire was never recovered.
“He’s incredibly patient,” Jenna added. “My mom calls him a saint, which is basically her way of saying I’m not always the easiest person to live with.”
