GH Spoilers: Drew seems to be holding all the cards after cornering Sonny, Jason, Curtis, and Michael—little does he know that his plan has already been anticipated by someone else!

GH Spoilers: Drew’s Strategy Could Lead to His Own Downfall.

Drew Thinks He’s in Charge—But He’s in for a Shock

Drew (Cameron Mathison) is determined to shake up Port Charles, but his latest attempt at revenge may do more harm to him than anyone else. Still holding a grudge over being ousted from Aurora by Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Michael (Chad Duell), Drew is now plotting to sabotage their esplanade project. He has joined forces with Sidwell (Carlo Rota) to push a relocation plan that would directly impact Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) Corinthos Coffee business.

By pressuring Laura (Genie Francis), Drew hopes to stall the original esplanade plan indefinitely unless she agrees to his terms. However, what he doesn’t realize is that his so-called winning move may actually put him in checkmate.

Sidwell’s True Motives Are a Mystery

Sidwell’s reasoning for wanting the esplanade relocated is still unclear. Perhaps he wants easier access to Wyndemere, or maybe he has an ulterior motive related to money laundering or illicit dealings. Regardless of the reason, Sidwell is an experienced manipulator, and Drew may simply be a tool in his larger scheme.

Aligning himself with Sidwell carries serious risks. If Sidwell is caught engaging in shady activities, Drew’s association with him could destroy whatever credibility he has left. If Drew truly wants to reclaim Aurora, attacking it from within through political maneuvering is a terrible strategy. Instead of weakening Curtis and Michael, he may end up ruining his own future.

Drew’s Plan May Play Right into Sonny’s Hands

Drew believes he’s cornering Sonny, but the reality is quite different. Sonny has pressing matters—he needs to secure his business before heading to California for an essential heart procedure. Since his recovery could take months, ensuring Corinthos Coffee runs without any complications is his top priority.

If the city follows through with the esplanade relocation, Sonny could use it to his advantage. Rather than fighting the move, he could accept a buyout and shift his operations elsewhere, which would keep his business stable while allowing the esplanade to proceed smoothly. This would give Sonny the perfect opportunity to step away without drawing unnecessary attention.

Drew’s revenge plan might just end up handing Sonny exactly what he needs. And in the process, it could leave Drew more frustrated than ever.

Sonny Is Always a Step Ahead

Sonny has shown that he’s thinking ahead in recent decisions, such as his surprising agreement to share custody of Avery (Ava & Grace Scarola) with Ava (Maura West). While it seemed like a move for Avery’s benefit, it was also a smart way to eliminate any legal distractions before his departure.

If Sonny was willing to set aside his differences with Ava for a greater goal, he will undoubtedly make the smartest choice regarding the esplanade. He may even shut down his coffee business temporarily for a smoother transition, recognizing that short-term sacrifices can lead to long-term stability.

Unlike Drew, Sonny knows when to fight and when to step back. Drew believes he’s orchestrating the perfect revenge, but in reality, he’s walking straight into a trap of his own making.
