Al Roker’s Unique Morning Rituals Leave Colleagues Perplexed.

Al Roker’s Pre-Show Routine Raises Eyebrows

Everyone has their own way of getting ready for the day, and Today show personality Al Roker is no exception. However, his morning ritual has surprised many, sparking both intrigue and amusement.

During a guest appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on February 20, Roker discussed his unique preparation method. When asked about how he gears up for his daily broadcast, his response was far from ordinary.

“There’s this show from the late ‘70s and early ‘80s—kind of like Masterpiece Theatre, but different,” Roker quipped. “It’s The A-Team.”

Colbert chimed in, acknowledging the show, which starred George Peppard and Mr. T. Roker confirmed his enthusiasm, revealing that the program plays a key role in his daily ritual.

A Nostalgic Start to Every Broadcast

Roker explained that he begins his mornings by playing The A-Team theme song and reciting the series’ well-known introduction.

“So, like a pledge?” Colbert asked.

“Yes,” Roker responded, then proceeded to deliver the entire monologue live:

“In 1972, a specialized military unit was wrongly convicted by a court and imprisoned. They quickly escaped and went underground in Los Angeles. Now fugitives, they operate as soldiers of fortune, helping those in need. If you have a problem and no one else can assist, and if you can locate them, you may be able to hire The A-Team!

The audience responded with enthusiastic applause, entertained by Roker’s dedication.

Reactions from Colleagues and Fans

While some find Roker’s ritual amusing, others wonder how it fits into the structured world of morning television. Regardless of opinions, he remains committed to his routine.

Ahead of his Late Show appearance, Roker shared a throwback Instagram clip from 2008, highlighting his first meeting with Colbert at the Christmas in Rockefeller Center event. In the footage, he humorously referred to Colbert as “the voice of this generation.”

Reflecting on the moment, Roker captioned the post: “We were joking, but we had a fantastic time.”
